Artisanal techniques
Uji tea artisans possess refined, hands-on expertise, passed down through generations. They master skills like knowing the precise moment to harvest and how to blend teas to achieve a perfect balance of flavor and aroma.

Stone-grinding
After harvest, the tea leaves (known as tencha) are slowly ground into a fine powder using traditional granite millstones. This prevents heat build-up and preserves the delicate flavors and aroma.
